Our Guides
Most tours are personally led by the founder of Manhattan and Beyond Tours, Lyall Croft who has more than 15 years of guiding experience and is a former Central Park employee. A licensed New York City tour guide and educator in two states, Croft has previously owned and operated a successful bicycle tour business called Boston Bike Tours for 11 years, pioneering the bicycle tour business in Boston.
Those who guide for Manhattan and Beyond Tours show love for tourism, history, hospitality, storytelling, and bad jokes. All our tours are themed and Manhattan and Beyond Tours have worked very hard to put together informative fun excursions. We pride ourselves on our hospitality and knowledge. Our aim is to share this with our guests to create a memorable and entertaining New York City sightseeing experience. Licensed educator, history major, tour guide, hospitality expert, entrepreneur, bicycle mechanic, former central park employee, drummer and pianist.

Hi, I'm a native New Yorker who enjoys helping people navigate this immense city! Helping visitors of New York City discover unique places and exploring our historic, continuously changing communities is something I love to share. Few other places offer the chance to see a multitude of cultures, histories and practices in the same space, overlapping and influencing each other constantly. When not leading tours, I am teaching NYC high school students and preparing them for college.
